A limo ride, a Halloween Carnival, and a NOT so Happy Halloween....

Yesterday was Madeline's big day...She got to go on her very first limo ride with two of her friends from school. Here are the girls waited so anxiously to take a ride.

They were so excited. All three were so "girlie" and "giggly" while they waited. It finally showed back up and it was there turn.

Getting ready to get in.

Madeline with one last smile.

The hummer limo.

Sitting inside...Can you see her? She's way in the back. I'm not sure she knew what to think once she got in it. After they careened around town for a little bit they got to stop and have ice cream. She had a blast.

Macy also had her Halloween carnival at Mother's Day Out. She was so excited when I got her costume out to put on. Look how sweet she looks....

When we got to school she marched right in with her pumpkin basket and told the teachers she was ready to "Trick or Treat". Here she is posing outside of her classroom door.

I volunteered to man the lollipop tree and boy could those little ones pull lollipops fast. They would grab two or three at a time. It is so much fun to see the joy and happiness on their faces when they are free to run around a great big room and grab all the candy they want. Macy is just now understanding how the whole Halloween/candy thing works. When I arrived to help her class had just gotten in the room and she had already snagged some candy. Here's the conversation we had.

Macy: "Mommy look at all dis candy." (at this point there were about 5 pieces in her bucket)
Me: "Wow, that's a lot of candy."
Macy: "Can I keep it?"
Me: "Yes, you won it, it's all yours."
Macy: "Thank you, mommy. Your the best. I love you."

That was easy. I'm a hero in my daughters eyes because I allow her to keep all that sugar. Now, she wasn't very happy when I told her I had to leave and take sissy to school. She wanted to come with me. The teacher got her back in the class told her about the pizza they were about to eat and all was good with the world again. A few shots at the carnival....

Macy and friends.

Showing her friends her loot.

Macy playing the duck game.
Madeline was a big help. She took Macy around to all the "stations" and was a great big sister. I think she was helping her win and chose things that MADELINE wanted. HA!

Now for the not so HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Last night at about 6:30, Macy began complaining her stomach hurt. Knowing that she had eaten a bunch of "junk" that afternoon I gave her a pepto chewable to help calm her stomach down. Then at about 7:00 she came to me saying it still hurt and within 30 seconds she began throwing up. We got her cleaned up and the mess cleaned up and laid her on the couch because my show was coming on and I wanted to keep an eye on her. She quickly fell asleep. She woke up again to throw up. This continued all night. I slept upstairs with Macy so I could keep an eye on her and be there when she threw up again. At about 1:00 am Hubs is at the bottom of the stairs yelling for help. You got it. Child #1 has now began throwing up. I'll spare you the details but let's just say my room looked like it was invaded by spaghetti o's. Bathe Madeline, clean the floors, stripe the bed (she got to sleep with daddy since Macy slept with me, I bet daddy wished he didn't make that compromise earlier in the night..HA!) and haul her upstairs, trash can in hand to the "sick room". So the remainder of my night consisted of holding trash cans for both girls, wiping their mouths and necks with a cold rag, taking them down to potty, and trying to keep them as comfortable of possible. Needless to say, it was a sleepless night. The worst part is that Madeline is SO UPSET to have to miss her Character parade at school today and she is so worried about not getting to wear her costume. I told her if she rested today and was not throwing up and was feeling better we could go trick or treating to a few houses. What a HALLOWEEN!! Please pray that hubs or I don't catch "the bug" and that the girls get over it quickly and fell better fast. It's no fun watching your little ones sick.

I'll leave you with this sweet picture of Madeline

Hope you all have a SAFE and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
I'll be revealing tomorrow what Madeline is (with pictures) for Halloween. Get those guesses in. Remember there is a prize.

I got one...

Ok, so I decided I could not go ANY LONGER without a camera. So I went shopping today and found one. So that means more pictures...YAY!! I had to have one for Madeline's first limo ride, both of the girls Halloween festivities and of course, Halloween.

I ended up getting a Sony H10. I'm not a HUGE photographer....I know NOTHING about photography or even how to take pictures. I just needed a decent camera that takes good pictures both inside and outside. So far I am loving it. I hope you are ready to start seeing some more pictures.

I have some exciting news to share with all of you. As I'm going through Madeline's homework folder I come across a note.....from the principal. Madeline was chosen as "Student of the Month". She will get to be awarded at the next PTA meeting, we have to make a poster board all about her (pictures to come when we finish it), and gets to have a special time with the principal. The criteria used in the selection are as follows: exhibits outstanding behavior, puts forth their best effort, sets a good example for others, is respectful to everyone, and makes an effort to improve citizenship. Of course, a picture with the winning letter.

We are so proud of you princess.
Now, I need to share a funny story. Today as I'm in Best B*y shopping for a camera Macy is looking at other things. She comes over to me holding a 3 pack of VHS tapes and says to me,

Macy: "Mommy, I want these. I love em." (with the sweetest little look on her face)
Me: "Macy, do you know what they are?"
Macy: "Yes, I always want dem." "Can I have dem, peas."
Me: "They are not a toy for children."
Macy: "Yes, they are perfect."
Me: "Macy, they are movie tapes that have NO MOVIE on them."
Macy: "Oh, (puts them down and comes back with a camera bag) How bout this purse." "I love it." "I need it."
Me: "No, that is not a purse it's a camera bag and you don't have a camera."
Macy: "Buy me one."

UGH!! This just goes to show that I buy my kids WAY to much stuff. It's got to stop. She thinks that every store she goes in she needs something. What have I created?

Alright, I will be back tomorrow with LOTS of pictures.

I need a new camera

So my camera is DEAD!! I just got this camera for Christmas last year and this one I didn't even drop in the toilet. That's what happened to my last one. I went to use it a few weeks back and it was not working. I am missing it desperately. I can't even begin to tell you all the funny, adorable, and memorable moments I have missed the past few weeks. I have to go get a new camera. Any suggestions on a good one?
In other news, Macy is doing so good at swim lessons. Something happened to her in the past two weeks. She discovered that she really LOVES the water and wants to be a fish. So much so that last night after swim class was over the head swim coach stopped me to tell me that they believe she is ready to move up to the next level. I'm pumped because in the next level they work on getting my OUT of the pool. YAY!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE swimming with her but I'm ready to see her become more independent in the pool. She is so excited. Madeline has decided that she wants to take swim lessons too. She is already a pretty good swimmer but I don't think it would hurt her to learn the "correct" way of swimming. We will look into it after the first of next year when the new session starts.
Madeline gets to do on a limo ride on Thurs. They had a fundraiser at school last month and all the children that sold more than 20 items get to take a limo ride. She is super excited. I'll get pictures...I may need to borrow my neighbors camera.

I've been HORRIBLE...

I have become a very lazy blogger....or a very busy mommy. This week is just as busy with Halloween parties at both girls schools, 2 days of swim lessons for Macy, gymnastics for Madeline, working in Madeline's class at school, and working "Light Up the Night" at church on Halloween night. I'll be glad when this week is over.

The girls and I made it back from Oklahoma late yesterday afternoon. We had a great trip and got to see ALL the family. We spent the first part of the trip with Hubs family. His sister and her husband even came from Tulsa to spend the night with us (thanks Mich and Brad). I went over early Thurs. morning to keep my nephew while my sister in law did a radio show for work. We had a great time together. We spent the rest of that day shopping and playing. The kids all had a great time together. It's so fun to get to watch them all interact and play together now that my nephew is older and can really interact with them (he is 15 months). Friday we took the three kids (Madeline 5, Macy 2, and Austen 1) to get the "cousins" picture taken. OH MY!! I give HUGE kuddos to all photographers but especially ones that take children pictures. Talk about PATIENCE!! I could NEVER do it. I was getting so stressed and uptight and was about to scream myself. Trying to get a 5, 2, and 1 year old to sit still, not cry, smile, and look at the camera all in the matter of TWO SECONDS is difficult. The girl did a pretty good job and we were able to get few good ones. I'll post one as soon as I can get one and scan it in. They also took some of just the girls together and by themselves.

Macy Katherine

Madeline Paige

Sweet Sisters

Friday night we went to my parents. Saturday we got up early and went to watch my brothers girlfriend son Garrett (who's like my nephew) play in ihs very first volleyball game. He did great. We watched a little football and then the girls went shopping for baby furniture for Aaron and Jaime. We found some beautiful furniture. It's going to look great. I can't wait for Lyric (my niece) to get here.
Today was swim lessons for Macy. She has FINALLY gotten over the fear of getting her face in the water. She is swimming all over the pool now. It's even hard for me to hang on to her because she thinks she can swim now. I'm so proud of her.
So this week is Halloween...What is your little one dressing up as? Macy is Raggedy Ann and Madeline......................Last clue. I reveal it on Friday unless someone guesses it before. Good luck.

Last clue....
It was once a movie.

Happy Monday to you all....

I hope this post finds everyone doing well. We have had a busy weekend. Friday morning Madeline wakes up and comes in to tell me that she wants to get her ears pierced today. "Are you sure?" Yes, I want them pierced now, before school. I decide to hold off on getting them done in case later in the day she decides she really doesn't want to. First, we have to get past one BIG obstacle......DADDY!! He has not wanted her to get her ears pierced for some time. He has wanted it to be her idea and something that she wanted not others. She told him it was her idea and that she really wanted it done. He gave her "permission". So after I picked her up I took her to SWEET & SASSY to get her hair cut and her ears pierced. It was like a little afternoon of beauty. Of course, my camera is still broken so there are no pictures. I took some with my phone but they didn't turn out so well. Madeline was so brave. She didn't even cry. The girls were awesome and none of us led on to what was about to happen. They brought the guns around behind her, shot them both at the same time, and they were done. I actually got a little teary eyed when I looked at my little girl and she had pierced ears. For some reason it made her look older and I felt like my little girl had grown 10 years in that short moment. I'll get some pictures to put on here later.

Saturday we spent the day at my cousins house. She hosted a Party Lite party. I got some candles and these

Aren't they cute? I'm not exactly sure where I'm going to put them but I'm sure I will find a place for them. Brad went and played golf with my cousins husband. They had a great time. Brad doesn't get to play golf as much as he would like so it was fun for him to go play.

Sunday, Madeline BEST FRIEND (our neighbor) Rachel, got baptised. It was like watching my own child up there. We are so proud of the decision that Rachel made to ask Christ to come into her life and live for HIM.

Here's a picture of Rachel and Madeline together. Can you tell what they have been up to? This picture was taken after we made hubs birthday cake a few weeks ago. They had been eating the left over batter.

I'm calling upon all prayer warriors again. Please continue to keep Jake and Erica in your prayers but we also have some dear friends the Murray's that need prayer. They added a new addition to their family on Saturday, Baby Adam, was born 4 weeks early. He needed some oxygen right after birth but has since been able to get off the oxygen and is breathing room air and is able to regulate his own body temperature. The only issue is with his feedings. He needs to be able to eat better before coming home. They are looking at a couple of weeks before he will come home. He is a HEALTHY 7 lbs. 1 oz, 19 inch long boy. Just got to get those feedings right. So pray that he gets the hang of it soon and can start eating without the tube. Also, they have a beautiful 5 year old daughter, MacKenzie, who is having a hard time with all of this. She isn't able to go in and see baby brother so she's having a hard time understanding. The fun thing about all this is this. The Murray's and the Jaggaers (Jake & Erica) are neighbors and both girls are at the same hospital so they are able to still visit one another even in the hospital. They get to hang out (well Deanna in Erica's room) and visit during the day. Please keep all these families in your prayers. If you have any prayer requests for me, I believe in the power of prayer and would love to pray for and with you....Just drop me a comment or you can email me at dc1075@hotmail.com .

I'm hoping to get my camera either fixed or get a new one soon. I am missing out on so many memorable things with the girls. So many times I've thought, "I've got to take a picture of that to show all my blog friends." And then I remember, NO CAMERA!! UGH!

Have a great week everyone.

Sad news....

Prayer Warriors you are needed!! As many of you know, our friends Jake and Erica are pregnant with triplets. Within the past few weeks they have been faced with multiple issues with the pregnancy. Yesterday afternoon, Erica gave birth to ONE of the triplets. Baby"A" was the singleton baby and was the one that had it's bag of water broken over a week ago. Once she delivered Baby "A", he was a boy, her labor stopped. He weighed 9 oz. and was 8.5 inches long. Babies B and C which are the identical twins are still doing alright. However, as you can imagine it is still a touch and go, hours by hour, minute by minute situation. Please pray for Jake and Erica as they grieve for their child and pray that Erica keeps up her strength for the other two babies. They are hurting and long for their baby boy. Please keep them in your prayers. You can read about their story here. Thanks to you all.

It's a brand new day...

This morning started off MUCH better than yesterday morning. However, I was awoken this morning by hearing Macy playing. I thought Madeline must have gotten her out of her crib and they are in the living room playing. I get up, go into the office to check my email, and continue listening to what I thought was both girls which ended up only being Macy. Madeline comes out of her bedroom having just awoken herself (she's my sleeper). So I look confusingly at Madeline and ask her, "Did you get Macy out of her bed this morning?" She replies, "I slept in and just woke up." So I look at Macy and she says to me, " I did it by myself. I climbed out all by myself." Apparently she figured out that all she has to do is climb out of her bed and have herself a little party while everyone else sleeps. Thank God she didn't get into anything. I'm just shocked she didn't come and get me. So I guess that answers the question hubs and I have been asking ourselves. "At what point do we take the rails down and turn her bed into a toddler bed?" I guess now. We'll see if it happens again. I'm really going to have to "TOODLER PROOF" my house since she will be on the loose. She is my climber, my explorer, my bargainer, my dreamer, my BABY!! I'm not ready for her to be out of her crib. Why do they have to grow so fast. To all you moms with newborns, or if you are pregnant, ENJOY your little ones because they turn into little people right before your eyes.
Please remember at some point today to lift up all the moms and dads that have lost a child at any stage.
I'm lifting up all moms but in particular two friends of mine that have lost children. My best friend, Raina lost her second born child, Hunter Colton on Dec. 22, 2000. He was born with a birth defect known as hydrops. He only lived a few short minutes. He will always be remembered. Also, and just recently, a dear friend of mine Chad and his wife Kelly lost their firstborn Brayden Lane, on June 24, 2008. He has an AMAZING story and his parents are AMAZING people. You can read about Sweet Brayden here you can also continue to follow their story here. They are expecting again, a complete surprise and special gift from God. Please keep all those who have lost in your prayers today.

Oh what a day....

So today was just one of those days where when you wake up something just tells you, "Get back in there and don't come out until tomorrow." I should have listened. It started off with changing Macy 3 times in a 15 minute period before taking her to MDO. She managed to get THREE different outfits dirty. Finally, the kids are dressed and ready to head out the door. We get to MDO and Macy begins to throw a fit because she doesn't want to go in without me. OH MY!! We've been doing this for over a year you'd think she'd get used to it. I know, it's a new year, new class, new teachers it's going to take some time. I gave her a BIG kiss and hug and tell her I love her and I'll be back in a little bit. It's a good thing 2 year old can't tell time.

Next Madeline and I headed to the dreaded doctor. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my doctor but she tends to run a little behind. I like her because she is very thorough at what she does so I don't mind waiting as long as she spends the time I need. So I've not been feeling well lately...Several issues going on and so after 4 vials of blood taken, a chest x-ray, and being sent to have a CT done she has determined (with the tests that she has back) that I am Hypoglycemic and there is a chance that I may have kidney stones. Oh Goody!! We'll see what the CT scan shows to know for sure. So now after much avoidance of doing a diet, I'm forced to to get the hypoglycemia under control. I can do it especially if it makes me feel better. So after 1.45 hours at the doctor I get Madeline to school, run a few errands while I have NO kids with me, and then head to pick up Macy at school. She was very excited to see me. However, her teacher informed me that she stops crying about 1.5 minutes after I leave. I know this.

Madeline got home from school and we head to gymnastics. Madeline did very well today. We head home where homework has begun. The pencil sharpener is FULL of pencil shavings so Madeline takes it to dump in the trash when......CRASH..........the sharpener hits the ground and shavings go EVERYWHERE. UGH!!! We get that cleaned up, when CRASH........Macy somehow figures out how to get the lid off her sippy cup and strawberry pediasure is EVERYWHERE. UGH!! I need to get dinner started so I do FINALLY and everything is going smooth......................for 10 minutes when I hear this

(Yes, that's the infamous Riley I have talked about before.) chomping on Madeline's crayons. I walk into the formal dining where she had been doing her homework and I find that Riley has eaten 3/4 of the crayons in the box and left most of the paper and shards of crayon all over the floor. Come on, what dog UNWRAPS the crayons before eating them. Apparently mine, because it makes for a BIGGER MESS!! I would have attached a picture but my camera is broken...AGAIN!!

Finally, hubs gets home from work. He's in the kitchen fixing his dinner plate, I'm helping Madeline with her last bit of homework when he yells for me to "Come here, FAST." I get up and run into the kitchen because I can hear Macy crying. "I think she drank some of that." he says. Here's what she drank........

What is it you ask? It is the oil burner that I burn my scented oils in from Bath and Body Works. I had some oil in it from a few days ago and Macy had climbed up on the counter to wash her hands and I guess saw it (even though she's seen it a million times) and decided she wanted to know what it tasted like. Not good. Her lips were burning and she wanted a drink. I went into to panic mode. Thank goodness my best friend/neighbor is a nurse and she came over to calm me down. We called Poison Control and they got all my information. I felt like I was being questioned as if I had given it to her and was being turned in to Child Protective Services. I know they have to get the information. Finally, they assured me she would be fine. "Wipe out her mouth and around her mouth, allow her to have something to drink and eat." "She may get an upset stomach and could vomit but she will be ok. THANK GOD!! So that has been my day. I'm now going to take my stressed out body to a hot bath and then to bed.
One more thing, tomorrow is the National Day of Rememberance for pregnancy and infant loss. As many of you know, I lost our second child in January 2005, you can read about it here . Please keep all those mothers and fathers who have lost a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or any other infant death. We never forget that child that is no longer with us.

Goodnight!!

First of all....

How about them......

COWBOYS!!!

We put a whooping, ok, we played well against and BEAT the MIssouri Tigers...28 -23. I'm so proud of our boys. We are 6-0 for the season. Which means we are already bowl eligible. YEAH!! I love going to Bowl games. I love the excitment of the fans, seeing the sea of ORANGE everywhere, and hearing the fight song playing everywhere. I hope the rest of our season goes well and we can keep up the momentum. I can't wait to see the ranking when they come out tomorrow. There were so many upsets this week and there will be lots of change in the top 25. With numbers, 1, 2 and 4 being beat there will be lots of change. I'm sorry if your team lost this week and celebrate with you if your team won. I love college football and this time of year.

LET'S GO POKES!!!

Brad and the Girls supporting the team...

So tell me, leave a comment and tell me Who is your team? I know that several of you are Arkansas fans and I saw they upset Auburn, several of you are Bama fans, so who is it?

In other news, I wanted to thank ALL of you who have been praying for Jake and Erica, Erica is still doing well. She has made it another week and we know that is only by the Grace of God. You can read the latest here. Continue those prayers.

We are getting ready for another busy week in the Mueller household. We have gymnastics, swim lessons, this is my volunteer week at Madeline's school so I'm working two days this week, and preparing for Halloween carnivals, parties, etc.

I hope you all had a great weekend. We relaxed and hung out around the house. My dad and brother came down Friday to attend the OU/TEXAS. game. Too bad for them, their team didn't win. They left right after the game to head back to Oklahoma. It was nice to spend a day with them.

Hope you all have a great week!!

Nursery View..

One of the bloggers, Kelly's Korner that I follow is hosting a "Share your Nursery/Dream Nursery" pictures. Of course, in order to show Madeline's I'd have to scan them in because it was before we had a digital camera. To be honest, I'm too lazy to do it. I'd have to go dig through the HUNDREDS of pictures I have to find them so you will have to just enjoy Macy's.

Her nursery was done a little over two and a half years ago. These pictures were taken before I had ALL the "extras" added. You can tell what it looks like though. I loved how it turned out. I never was one for all the pale pink (sweet) stuff. I LOVE IT NOW!! Don't get me wrong, I love pink, frilly, and soft stuff but not for my girls for some reason. With out further ado, here's Miss Macy's room....

The crib, hamper, diaper stacker, and changing table.

The crib. The sign above it says, "A Princess Sleeps Here"

Her name on the wall, rocking chair, and curtains.

The theme for the whole room revolved around the lamp. I LOVED it. Yes, those pictures have nothing in them. Of course, now they have pictures in them.

Blocks with her name on them that someone made for her.

That's it. Hope you enjoyed it. I can't wait to see everyone elses.

Reflection Monday

I want to start this post with a song that has meant a lot to me......I found this video on you tube. Take the time to watch and listen to the words and take time to thank OUR FATHER who gives us life....

">

Pretty Awesome huh? He is HOLY. I am in awe each day when I think, just like the song says, of "the greatness of his mercy and love." Even when I am not at my best he never judges me, he still loves me, and he promises to never leave me.
I know there are times when I don't understand God's timing, or God's Will for my life but I know there is no better timing and Will than his. I pray each day that he will give me the strength to make it through the day and that in each thing I do it will glorify him. Sure, I struggle at times, a lot of times to be completely honest. This is when I remind myself he still loves me. There are things going on in my life right now that I'm working on, that I don't understand, but together with my God I pray they will become more clear. I truly can't imagine what life would be like if I didn't have a friend like Jesus that I can go to at any time to ask for help. If you don't know my friend Jesus I challenge you to get to know him.

Happy Monday to you all.....

Fireproof.

So I did it...I FINALLY went to see Fireproof last night. Let me just tell you, it is one of the BEST movies I have seen STORY LINE WISE. The acting wasn't the greatest but you can easily get past it if you focus on what the message of the movie is. This movie was HILARIOUS, romantic, heart tugging, and really made you think. I STRONGLY recommend ANY and ALL married couples, or to be married couples to go see it. The hubby and I along with our wonderful neighbors went on a date night last night to see it. Go see it and if you've already seen it, leave me a comment letting me know what you thought about it.

Clue #3 - Madeline's costume
It's got the color Blue in it.
Any guesses yet?

Recap of clues....
It's made for a girl
It's sparkly
It's got the color blue in it.

I know these are very generic clues. As we get closer to Halloween they will get easier. First one to guess it correctly will win a prize...

Get those thinking caps on.....Have a great remainder of the weekend!!

URGENT PRAYERS NEEDED!!

If you have been following my blog then you know about our friends that are pregnant with triplets. Well last night they had a MAJOR SETBACK. A day ago Erica was taken to the hospital because she was already dilating to 2cm so they went in and did a cerclage (stitch) in her cervix. Well last night, one of the "sacs" ruptured and her water broke. She is only at 16 weeks and needs to make it another 8 weeks before the babies can survive outside the womb. Please send prayers up on their behalf. They have had so many struggles to get where they are with these sweet babies and need all the prayers they can get. Thank to all my prayer warriors. We're praying for you Jake and Erica.

Allow me to brag....

So I've always known that my oldest (and my youngest but this one is all about Miss Madeline) child, Madeline, is VERY SMART. I know, I know, ALL parents say that BUT she is. She always did things way early. She walked at 9 months, talked with 2-3 word sentences at 16 months, potty trained at 22 months, could write her name at a little under 3 years, knew her address and phone number at 2.5. I'm know, gag me huh? I'm very proud of my children, can you tell? This week at school they have been doing the TPRI (Texas Primary Reading Inventory) testing on all the children. So when I went to pick Madeline up from school yesterday her teacher brought her to the car and told me that Madeline had ACED the TPRI and that she was ready to be READING books. She said that each week Madeline would be coming home with a different book that she was to be reading. YEAH for Madeline. I knew she was ready. She's been doing some "Inventive" spelling for a while now so I knew it wouldn't be long. She has wanted to learn to read and write for so long. She's on her way. She's just getting so big.
Madeline also did her evaluation at gymnastics yesterday because her current coach said she was ready to go to the next level. That is 4 levels in one year that she has done in gymnastics. As soon as she completes this level (Girls Silver) she will be ready to be on the TEAM. We are hoping that by next year she will be ready to do Team which is competitions. She does really well at gymnastics and enjoys it so much. I just hate what it will do to her body when she's my age because I am feeling all the years of cheerleading, tumbling, and gymnastics on my back and neck. Oh well....it's worth it, right?
I guess that's all the bragging I will do on My sweet Madeline....FOR NOW!!
Thanks for allowing me to brag a little, ok A LOT.

I love this girl!!!

Clue #2 Madeline's Halloween Costume
It's sparkly.
Any guesses?

It's been 10 years and Happy Birthday!

First I want to say, Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband. I hope your day is filled with fun (sorry you have to work) and happy memories. The girls and I love you very much and thank you for all that you do for our family.

Now, Ten years ago today my husband asked me to be his wife. He totally took me by surprise. Let me paint the picture for you.

October 1, 1998 I had to work all day (after class-I was still in college) I had planned on taking the (now) hubby out to eat for a nice dinner to celebrate his birthday. I told him to meet me at my apartment at 7:30. He shows up and begins telling me that his brother had called and needed us to bring him some food to the football stadium because he was going to be working real late and couldn't leave. As a side note, his brother worked for the athletic department at Oklahoma State University. I wasn't real happy about this because we had dinner plans at 8:00 but I didn't say anything and went along with it. We went through McDonald's and got his brother and another co-worker some food. As we approached Lewis Field(aka Boone Pickens Stadium these days) he tells me we need to go ONTO the field and that his brother would be watching for us and come get his food. What? This is the craziest thing I've heard. Can't we just call him and tell him we are here? So as we start walking out onto this DARK, HUGE football field (Here's a picture of what it looks like during the day

This is the best picture I could find because the stadium has totally been redone and looks nothing like the old field but you get my drift) On with my story.
I see something sitting in the middle of the field, right on the 50 yard line. As we get a little closer I notice it is a table and there is a sign on it that says "Reserved for (insert hubby's name here). What in the heck is going on? As I turn to hubby he his down on one knee with a small box with a beautiful ring inside and proceeds to tell me how this is the place we had met one year ago.
Short story how we met. Hubby was an accounting major along with one of my best friends from childhood. She decided to set us up kinda like a blind date (although I had seen him one time before when I went with her to his fraternity house to get some notes from a class they had together. However, I don't guess I paid too much attention at the time). Hubby was was of the finalist for Homecoming King at Oklahoma State University. During the halftime at the game after the ceremony, he came up into the stands (it was pouring rain) and we met. I introduced myself to him. The rest was history.
Back to engagement night. He continues telling me how much he loves me, how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, Will I be his wife? I was so shocked and in tears by this point I grabbed the ring and said yes. I was ready to leave and go call EVERYONE. He wanted to eat the McDonald's he bought for his "brother". I was too excited to eat so I sat and watched him eat. We finally left and went back to my apt. to tell my roommates and began calling EVERYONE. Here we are the night we were engaged.

In the past 10 years so much has changed. We have moved away from our families and friends in Oklahoma (Very SAD), made wonderful friends in Texas (very happy), had TWO BEAUTIFUL daughters (best things to happen in our lives), gained a little (ok, a lot of weight), had numerous fun vacations, and grown even more in love. I thank God for all the things he has given in my life.

Happy Birthday Hubby!!!
